Lokmanya Tilak Punyatithi

Lokmanya Tilak was born at Chummakachu Lane (Ranjani Aaleea) in Chikhalgaon, Ratnagiri, Maharashtra to a Chitpavan Brahmin family. His father, Mr.Gangadhar Tilak was a famous school teacher and a Sanskrit scholar who died when Tilak was sixteen. His brilliance rubbed off on young Tilak, who graduated from Deccan College, Pune in 1877. Tilak was among one of the first generation of Indians to receive a college education.

       Punya tithi Din of our great national leader and a powerful orator Lokmanya Tilak was observed on 1st August 2017 in our school premises.The programme started with a cleanliness drive in our school premises.The formal programme started with garlanding of the portrait of Lokmanya Tilak by all the teachers staff and commenced with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony and Saraswati poojan by School Trustee Mr.Raj Parab sir, Head Mistress of Primary section Mrs. Jyoti Parab Madam and Head Mistress of Pre-Primary Section Mrs. Ruchi Parkar madam.

          Students of Nursery section were dressed up as Lokmanya Tilak. Respective class Teachers from all the Sections gave them a brief Introduction about our great national leader also his beliefs that ,'Religion and practical life are not different. To take Sanyasa(renunciation) is not to abandon life. The real spirit is to make the country your family and work together instead of working only for your own. The step beyond is to serve humanity and the next step is to serve God” were explained..The Programme cocluded by singing a prayer.
